True, the only thing he did right the entire movie was throw the knife, and he completely fucked up the first time.

Not just that, but he has no part in the story aside from accidently bumping into the bad guy and wanting to screw the other white character. The major feud here is between Liu Kang and Shang Tsung, and in any other movie he would just be the Johnny Cage tagging along that needs everything explained to in order to clue the audience in.
