It does bury itself in Cleverness at the end, but I liked that about it this time. And I liked Donald a lot. He is a likable dude.

Ok yeah, he was cool. But he gets killed during the circus time "Look at how funny I am turning my movie into the exact pile of cliches I said I hate! Tee-hee!" A much better Plight of the Pretentious Writer with Writer's Block vs Hollywood, Which In Turn Is Pseudo-Autobiographical is Barton Fink, hands down. It's crazy, weird, pretentious, but doesn't feel like an I gave up so now I'm just going to make fun of everything, moment.
