Thread: Favorite Publisher 2006-2012

  1. None of the Above:

    Valve.

  2. Yeah. This one is hard because every one of these had several games I really liked. And then THQ isn't on here but they had several games too.

Yeah, Valve is a good one if you're really into FPS. The same goes for Paradox: if you like strategy games, there is simply no better publisher.

  4. I don't think I can answer this question. I'm having a hard time separating my opinions right now, today, from those involving 2006-2012. I can't say I feel a lot of excitement for any of them.

    James

  5. Bethesda gave me Fallout 3 and New Vegas, easily my favorite games this gen. I guess that makes them Top Banana by default.

Atlus put out a lot of good stuff, Catherine being the most notable. It wasn't my favorite game, but it was the most unique and profound console gaming experience I had this gen, and I won't forget it anytime soon.

Sega gets honorable mention for continuing to deliver Yakuza games to the Unites States. Thank you.

Further honorable mention goes to Cing for redefining handheld gaming excellence via Kyle Hyde's adventures. Why must the good die so young?

In other news, Nintendo and Square-Enix get passed over entirely. Nobody hijacked my account. Just too much swinging and missing to be crowned the best of anything.

    Eh.

    Episode 1 - total shit
Episode 2 - very well done super linear FPS where the enemies stand around while you kill them. Like Call of Duty, but worse in a lot of ways.
Portal - okay these are great
    Left 4 Dead - I dont care.

Needless to say I think Valve is highly overrated. Hopefully CS GO is legit.

  7. EA for the NHL games and Battlefield.

  8. Voted Bethesda for the sheer amount of hours I dropped into the Fallout and Elder Scrolls games (~850 hours total) and loved them. Capcom would probably take my number 2 vote with SSF4 alone, then they made other games I enjoyed as well. But honestly everyone on that list made something I've enjoyed, so my hat is tipped to them all.

  9. EA, other than the DLC bullshit (that every publisher is doing now), they published so many games I enjoyed.

Half-Life 2 was 2004 though, so diff's list is all Valve had. That can't stand up to some of these mega publishers over the last seven years. You know I wanted to include them, but there was just no way to do that objectively.
