Thread: Brave

  1. You realize that you are trying to argue that point with Chris the fucking man, right? His
His life amounts to nothing if not for the flash.

  2. I loved Finding Nemo. And had no connection with Cars. I do, however, love aquatic life and don't treasure cars. The fact that the movies speak so strongly to such a large segment of people probably speaks well for the world they created.

  3. There are people out there who think Cars is the best pixar movie.

I think it just comes down to how much of a car person you are in real life. My dad loves NASCAR and rebuilt cars and worked as a mechanic for years in his twenties and he fucking loves Cars.

  4. I just saw Brave for the second time today, thanks to my family and my girlfriend having completely different schedules. On first showing I was kind of critical of it, because it really does lack the spark of Pixar's best, but knowing what I was in for on viewing #2 I just sat back and enjoyed it. Brave isn't Pixar's best, but it's still a really solid, fun, beautiful, entertaining movie. And La Luna was just wonderful.

Finding Nemo = good, Cars - bad, and I'm the only person in the world who didn't much care for Monsters Inc.

  5. You should be, at least. Actually, you shouldn't be. Everyone should love Monsters Inc.
    Donk

  6. There is a chance Monsters Inc is my favorite Pixar movie to watch.

That doesn't mean it's the best, per se, but it's so fucking watchable. I hope that Monster University is the same, fun and watchable.

  7. Can I just say how entertained I am that the Steve Purcell who co-wrote and co-directed Brave also created Sam & Max?

    James

  8. I like cars in real life, but didn't take a shine to Cars.

    Yep.

It was good. Felt really old school Disney. If I had a complaint it would be that they had to set up the legend so long it kind of made the middle part of the story squashed and felt shortened or rushed. After the mom changes it is really great, and at least it ties the whole legend into everything else. I feel like they could have just trimmed some fat in the beginning.

The three brothers are almost entirely a waste of screen time.

I LOVE the short. LOVE it.

This is so true. I cry EVERY time.

But overall I think I put UP behind even Cars 1.
