    I had!

That reminds me of Diabolical Pitch and Neverdead, though I'm not sure if they specify in the former if those are zombies or just shambling undead demons.

  3. I watched the video. You don't need zombies to show "the human element in societal breakdown."

It shouldn't be that hard to come up with another reason for society collapsing besides tired ass zombies.

  4. And what would you suggest that presents a radically different main cause that isn't overdone (Ooh it's post-apoc, so original too) without requiring extra explanation.

Cyberpunk, but it's too late for anyone else to do it, because CD Projekt Red will do it better anyway.

I can't imagine this kind of thing possibly happening under the extreme budget constraints of a Kickstarter project.

I like this Kickstarter thing, but some of the budgets people are asking for seem unreaslitically low, and they don't have any other revenue stream to cover overages if they have to. Developers like to whine and complain that publishers rush them to finish when they go over-budget (and this IS probably a bad business decision on publishers' parts) but what's going to happen to public funded games where when the money runs out, the lights just go off? Companies like Double Fine and Wasteland 2 can absorb some delays if they have to but a new upstart kind of can't.
