    The Vectrex is a great machine. I plan on buying one some time. There's a T-Shirt store in a mall near where I live that has one on display but they wouldn't sell me it.

    Zuh? Why would a tee shirt store (of all places) have one out on display?

    It's a custom T-shirt place with a '70's/'80's retro theme going on. Not only do they have a Vectrex but they have a Night Driver arcade machine and an Odyssey 1! My jaw dropped when I entered that place.

    According to Omega Race's story line, the events of the game will occur next year.

    Wow, thanks for reccomending this game. I just played it , and I really like it's Robotron like play mechanics.

    Glad you like Black Widow. It's definitely a forgotten classic.

    I wonder which came first, Black Widow or Robotron. They're both dated 1982, I think.

  6. Man, I can play Asteroids until the cows come home. Pure gaming zen. The game just has perfect control.

  7. <==== bigtime Asteroids fan.

    Guess who's back, back a-gain? Coffee's back. Tell a-friend.

    I think that Asteroids was the very first game I ever really played. If not, I still can vividly remember the place & situation of when I saw that machine in the back of a little Isaly's restaurant in around 1980 when I was probably 12 yrs old or so. Two bearded biker dudes (adults) were just having a great old time playing that game. When they left, I cautiously made my way over to the pulsating machine. Asteriods!

    I still play it on the Digital Eclipse PSX and DC discs I have it on. The DC is a bit too high resolution though, it may be easier to see on the PSX a bit, due to the PSX's lower rez. Great game, and challenging. Getting to 10,000 is a feat!

  8. Quite possibly the first arcade game I ever played, or saw for that matter. Honestly I'm not sure any more, but odds are pretty high and I've got a clear memory of sucking bad at it. I didn't get anything like good at arcade games until they introduced the joystick.

    Playing Asteroids today, I've no idea how I could have played it so poorly. Amazing what 20-some years of gaming will do for you skills.

    Best PC asteroids clone I've seen, small enough for anyone to download on any connection. Go get.

  9. Asteroids is good, but I prefer Blasteroids.

    EDIT: Welcome back, Cafeman! Good to see you. How goes the homebrewing?
