    Revalation 4:4

also, the Kaballah of the Jews, speaks of the God of the bible Yaweh, only being a minor part of the greater WHOLE God, the Sephiroth....10 pieces form a whole.

Do not allow satan to use you as tool for dissension and anger. Resist him and move on, In Jesus name.
    and John said...

"Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Christ did."

    John 2:6
    --------------------------
Since Jesus directly challenged the pharisees and the other religious know it alls of the day, and was crucified for it, would that not make me more like Jesus than you...think about it.

and for those that pick and choose..

"some who are despised now will be greatly honored then ; and some who are greatly honored now will be despised later on."

    Luke 13:30

    ----------------------------
Here is PROOF that the New Testament was re written by the Romans from what ever original form it may have been in before, the New Testament is NOT INFALLIBLE!!!! The Old Testament even more so.

[b]"Obey the government, for God is the one who put it there. All governments have been put in place by God."

    Romans 13:1
    -------------------

and in regards to Master of 7s saying i bring Satan to this discussion by my words.....

    Jesus said...

"I HAVE COME TO BRING FIRE TO THE EARTH, AND I WISH THAT MY TASK WAS DONE....SO YOU THINK I HAVE COME TO BRING PEACE TO THE EARTH? NO, I HAVE COME TO BRING STRIFE AND DIVISION! FROM NOW ON FAMILIES WILL BE SPLIT APART"

    Luke 12:49

and Master remember what the Pharisees said of Jesus...

"the teachers of religious law who had arrived from Jerusalem said of Jesus... "hes possessed by Satan indeed."

    Mark 3:22
    -----------------
to the hyprocites who claim to know the Bible as if God spoke to them personally..i dont care about your scholars Eric, they too are human and are looking for their pension....

"How terrible it will be for you experts in religious law. For you hide the key to knowledge from the people. YOU DONT ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN AND YOU PREVENT OTHERS FROM ENTERING."

    Luke 11:52

    so keep your mouth shut
    -------------------

by the way does this sound like the words of the Son of God:::HONESTLY, dont hide behind your apologetic answers...

Jesus in a conversation with a Gentile:::

"Since she was a Gentile, Jesus first told her, "First I should help my own family the Jews. IT ISNT RIGHT TO TAKE FOOD FROM THE CHILDREN AND THROW IT TO THE DOGS."

She replied,"Thats true Lord, but even the dogs under the table are given some crumbs form the children's plate."

"Good answer," he said. "And because you have answered so well, I have healed your dughter."

    Mark 7:27-29

    ------------------

and to those who are close minded due to their upbringing in Chrisitainity and arent open to change, i shall pray for you....

    ------------------------
i AM SAVED>>>>for i TRULY KNOW JESUS...he has made me cry, he has made me angry, he has made me hate, he has made me love , for he is all and all is him....catch my drift.

    MKU 1:1
    ------------------------
    now my personal favorite....

"Dont worry about tommorow, for tommorow will bring its own worries. Todays trouble is enough for today."

    Mattherw 6:34

If you mean to say that it's inherently impossible to "prove a negative," then I disagree. If you assert that President Clinton was "beamed up" to the Starship Enterprise right in the middle of the 1998 State of the Union address, I think that can "dissprove that [this] event in history happened."

It's like when Jesse Jackson claimed (falsely) that Martin Luther King died in his arms. Was Jackson saying, symbolically, that he is the successor to King? Yes. Was Jackson making a claim that something literally happened? Yes. He was doing BOTH of those things. Same thing with the Bible. The creation stories, for example, were symbolic but I believe that they were intended to be taken literally by their audiences.

I never read this thread when it was up way back when. It's a good read.

I am Why do I do it? Not because the Bible tells me, but because God inspires me to do it. Does the Bible command to do those things? Sure. But that is simply a coinsidence. I do it because God "tells me to." Just as He's told me to share my faith on this message board, in the manner and tone I've taken. Will it save someone? Maybe. But that doesn't concern me. What concerns me is that I please God. Why? Because I'm driven by His love for me. Not the love that is written about in the Bible. Not the love that my pastor speaks about. But a real, personal love that I feel in my heart and all around me every day.
As someone that does not understand or share your faith I've got to say that comes across as really fucking weird.

I mean, you're living your entire life based on the teachings of some invisible man in the sky... I don't get it. Not criticizing, I'm just baffled.

Its just so, I don't know, weird.

P.S. Yeah, I know this quote is over a year old...

  5. It just seems like "the right thing to do" ? ?
I can't entirely explain it. I'm Buddhist, but saw the quote and question... it's not a logical experience.
Over time, I slowly started to feel a certain way about the world and how I interact with it. A sort of hollowness crept up over time, and while I had adopted Christianity back in High School for a time, Buddhism simply felt like home.
It's different for everyone, sure, but for me that's the aspect that compels, and a sort of underlying love/connection with everything (sappy pussy bullshit, one might say) Can't say I act like it all the time, but it's there.
    meh.

I know it sounds weird, foolish even, but it's the honest to goodness truth.

It's kind of like marriage. You don't really know until you do it.

  7. Captain, one of these days you've got to share your testimony of your revelation of Christ in detail. I am genuinely curious to know what He said to you.

  8. Certainly...but prepare for disappointment. It's not so grandiose.

    PM me.

I can't believe I let this float passed the first time through.

Unfortunatly, Mr. Simmons, not being as half as knowlegable concerning Christians as he'd like to think, is wrong. Though no doubt intelligent, he likes to think himself well versed in Christian doctrine and belief, when he is no where neare being considered as such.

This is a faithful saying, and these things I want you to afirm constantly, that those who have believed in God should be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable to men. NKJV Titus 3:8

And let our people also learn to maintain good works, to meet urgent needs, that they may not be unfruitful. NKJV Titus 3:14

What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, "Depart in peace, be warmed and filled," but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
But someone will say, "You have faith, and I have works." Show me your faith without *your works, and I will show you my faith by *my works. You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe--and tremble! But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is *dead? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, "Abraham believed God, and it was *accounted to him for righteousness." And he was called the friend of God. You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
    NKJV James 2:14-24

Not to mention the fact that Hitler did not confess his sins to Jesus Christ prior to his death, so that hypothetical supposition is flawed right off the bat. Not only will it never happen, but it didn't happen.

You don't know that for sure.

Unless Jesus told you, but I don't really know how that works.

  10. 88, it is highly unlikely since he renounced his faith and was obessed with the occult. it could happen, but its unlikely.
