I think thats the problem. The people who I thought were going to be there for me are the ones pushing me to go to meetings. I undertsand they are important. But still theres this doubt in me that won't go away. And I want to make my journey with God whole heartedly. I said when I first started studying that I was going to do this for the right reasons and no halfassed bull. I'm trying to stick by that. But I guess I'm going too slow.




I am trying though and I do believe in God.

Yeah, I'm with Hero here. Just take your time, life is a marathon, not a sprint.

My best advice would be to pray to God for understanding, if you want to listen he will talk to you.

For me, I've had a very rocky road. I've never been too happy with organized religion in general, although in high school I went to church frequently. Shortly after high school, the plan was actually to become a minister. Seriously. A short time later, I hated myself, and thought "to hell with God". I wasn't actually mad at Him, but I wanted no part of it, I wanted to be on my own for a while.

It's been several years since then and I'm still sorting things out, but I've always had a voice tugging at me that's saying "when you are ready, I'll be here."

I'm glad to hear it.

I know you're disappointed, but honestly I cannot think of any answer that I can give you to satify your desire. I mean, God really did do those things. He did. It's right there in black and white. And I've done my damndest to try and explain why, which is really all I can do. After all my explaining it would appear as though my answers haven't been good enough, which is fine by me, but it also ends the conversation, as there's really nothing left for me to say.

The only thing I can come up with is that we are children of His wrath. All have sinned, and all fall short of the glory of God. He has every right to exterminate us, as demonstrated by himself on many occasions. Is it unfair? I'd say no, because He was justified in His actions, because of our sin. You'd say yes, because it's a human life, and an innocent human life at that. There's really no where else to go.

And even if He did do all of those "hienous" acts, He still sacrificed Himself and His Son at His own alter that we might see Him in eternity. For everything else He's done that you don't like, this has got to be worth something.

Oh my, if there is a God why did he or SHE create us as imperfect and expect us to live up to his perfectness, then have to kill us cos we werent as perfect as the him, the creator of the grand cosmos and all existence....blah, blah, blah, so God could be entertained or needed to kill some time, that doesnt sound like a very nice God to me, I'll pass. Your train of thinking is what turns people of to the message of Christ.

With that said, I do believe in some sort of higher oneness and some sort of instinctual moral code within all of us that doesnt require reading the 10 commandments to understand. I do go to Church and would consider myself a Christian in the most radical sense, in that I am a direct follower of Christ and Christ's teachings clearly showed that God is within, not in a Tabernacle,or in a cloud watching us, or in a 5000 year old book. I really believe Jesus thought the Old Testament was a bunch of bullshit fables that was holding people down, hence he was killed and his teachings were twisted to fit political agendas and here we are, technologically advanced savages, monkeys who press buttons.


Violent Happy, I say be happy and enjoy life, grow some roses or get a slice of pizza. Do something, paint, play the guitar, love yourself, love your parents, anything. You dont need some dogmatic lunatics holding you down.

Everymorning I wake up before sunrise jog a mile and watch the sunrise, so every morning I am inspired by her prescence.

Sex also, really good sex with my girlfriend of 6 years makes me feel and appreciatte Gods prescence.
