Wii U is a good pickup for old school nerds with spare money. Coincidentally that applies to a lot of TNL, but I dunno, it's a tough sell outside of that. Even for families there's just not a lot of games there...

I used to buy consoles around launch when I was younger and time felt slower moving but nowadays it makes more sense for me to wait. I didn't own a PS3 until late 2010 because the PC and 360 had me covered for all but a handful of games. I caught up with a few years worth of PS3 exclusives in under two months. Now the Wii U is like that for me. It has a small number of games I really want to play but I'm fine waiting for at least another price drop or a fluke sale.
