I don't know darkstalkers, but you can probably cancel dashes with crouching, so you dash back, cancel the dash immediately with a crouch, then dash forward jab. That's the second challenge?!
Where does the down come in? That's definitely the part I was missing if that's it. I was just to trying to hit back, back, forward, forward as fast as possible, and it wasn't fast enough or just wrong.

Yeah, they're way harder, for me at least, than the SFIV ones.
Well... yeah. Anything before SFIV is going to be harder to be honest.
ARCADE PERFECT!
SFIV has made you soft.
I didn't even play that much SFIV. It was just the first challenge mode I recall playing.
The sad thing I learned or was reminded of is that Darkstalkers "innovated" air blocking. I used to blame SFA, a series I never liked that much, for that.![]()
Nothing wrong with taking what you can get, but wasn't there a PS2 version with all the characters and all the frames? Why wouldn't we want the best? At the very least, why wouldn't we want all the arcade versions of Vampire Savior?
I have that too. This does have some nice graphical options though. My favorite is the cabinet with scanlines.
