I actually can't believe I typed that either. Game journalists....who cares, right? They're such losers! All they do is sit around playing games months before they're in stores, getting paid to eat Doritos! Fucking losers! We're the real winners...we grind through mind numbing numbers all day as accountants and play games for a couple hours each night before we have to go to bed to get up early to face that excel spreadsheet in the morning. Fucking awesome!
Aw man, you mean you get paid to just sit around and use computers all day?! I'm jelly.

That really does describe my life uncannily.

Game journalists have the more fun job day to day, but you're probably starting to make more money than you know what to do with, and you'll be able to retire comfortably at some point which can't be said about game journalists.

Yeah and to be honest, most of the mainstream stuff isn't really worth playing that much these days anyways compared to the crop of indie games.

Also pretty sure a decent amount don't need the cash and some, a few Polygon people for example, come from well off backgrounds.

It's a sweet gig, I respect the profession.
Try being a Videogame tester and then get back to me how awesome that job is.
