I googled "Why EA Origin is bad" and after reading through a few articles, the main reason is "It's not Steam." There's been nothing about DRM or shit like that.

Well, the only things I can see are a) you have to be online (a deal breaker for some but not for me) and b) maybe it isn't as good as Steam when doing secondary stuff. But if the game is 5 dollars on Origin and not on Steam at all, what good does Steam do me?

The real original reason was that spyware was loaded in Origin and it would scan all your system files. There were ways to stop that (which is why I went ahead and installed Origin) but I believe they also removed the scanning portions after the initial backlash.
