Bigger fish to fry. Luke knows his family is strong in the force, seems like a good place to start rebuilding. He didn't get the jedi temple inundation as a kid, after all.

I liked the movie. The two bits that snapped me out of it were Leia and Chewie walking right by each other at the end and Rey not so much jedi mind tricking a stormtrooper as mind dominating him into doing the exact opposite of what he needed to do...at great peril to himself.

Considering that doctrine was what brought the order down in the first place, as acknowledged by Yoda himself in the RotS novelization? KEEPING IT would be bullshit writing. Not to mention we have no reason to believe Luke even knows about it. The real reason is of course that it was made up during the writing of Attack of the Clones, but the only way to explain in-universe why Yoda and Old Ben tell Luke about Anakin having kids and never act like that's anything out of the ordinary is that they decided to leave the celibacy doctrine out of Luke's instruction.

So I saw it again this morning for the 3rd time and noticed 2 things.

We just watched Return of the Jedi on friday night so my GF could be caught up to see this. I noticed some of Rey's fighting from this one was very reminiscent of Luke's fighting with Vader at the end of RoTJ. Also I did not notice this at all the first 2 times, but at the end of this new one, I noticed that Luke is standing in front of a rock that looks like it's propped up/standing up like a grave stone. Going on my guess that Rey is Luke's, I wonder if that is the grave for Rey's mom.
