Weeman took the long way around to say the story sucked, which was almost universally agreed upon. Main character was a dick, but it looked, sounded, and played great.

Ni No Kuni: Wrath of the White Wizard (PS3) - I'm still relatively early in this, since I was out of town when it arrived. I got the second party member and passed the trials. The beauty definitely hasn't worn off yet for me. The areas that connect the overhead map, like the forest from the demo and area with all the mushrooms, are just amazing. I like the combat as well, though it could have done with more customization, like FFXII. It seems as though the most efficient set up is for the party leader to act as the healer, because letting the NPCs do it results in gross over-healing. I wish you could set it up to not heal until the character was down to X%. I'm anxiously awaiting the inevitable story twist where we find out who Oliver's soul mate is.
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (PSV) - I continue to move through the challenge mode of this at a pretty slow pace. I tend to do two challenges each time but go a few days between plays. So far I've beaten the first 12 challenges, including the first two head-to-heads. I'm forcing myself to stick with the original girl player until I max her loyalty, since there's a trophy involved. I did get some fancy soccer balls that don't do shit but look cool though!
Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed (PC) - This should be finished downloading by the time I hit submit on this post, so I guess I have successfully passed the time. I wish it would have had a preload option so that I didn't have to wait until the unlock to start downloading it.
I also need to get back to EDF 2017 on Vita... and Giana Sisters... and... I don't want to think about any more.
Yeah Grandia II did everything right except for the stupid story, shitty characters and god awful voice acting.
I really don't know why I put in the 50 or so hours it took to beat that game other than there simply wasn't anything else like it on Dreamcast at the time.
That sounds about right, although I still enjoyed it. Was Skies of Arcadia not released yet?
...because without the bitter, baby, the sweet ain't as sweet.
According to wiki (for whatever that's worth) Skies actually released three weeks before Grandia II.
