Earth Defense Force 2017 Portable (PSV) - I'm about halfway through the first campaign, still eating a truck load of Mzo's dust. I'm not sure the others that bought this, SSJN and bbobb, have played since we did four-player. Hopefully we can meet up again once we all unlock the Pale Wing. I still really like the game, but banging the button to shoot 8,000,000 enemies on each level literally makes my hand numb after a while, so progression has been slow.
Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational (PSV) - I'm up to level 5 in the Challenge mode now. Level four was a bitch. I had to play through several of those multiple times to get 1st, including losing a couple on tie breakers, which is really infuriating. Everything about this series is great except the characters. Sony really needs to scrap them and go full-on Mario Golf. They've already broken down that wall with PlayStation All-Stars and even the the horrid ModNation, so let's just go for it. Victor Sullivan please.
Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD Edition (PSV) - As posted in the MGR:R thread, I decided to try to play through this series in chronological order this year, so here I am in 1964. I make the HALO jump (best use of those four letters in a game ever), listen to Major Tom for too long, walk ten feet to get my backpack, listen to Major Tom, Boss, and Para-Medic for way too long, save and take nap. Seriously, I couldn't take this on the ass end of a JRPG. Hopefully I can play some of the game now that I woke back up.
You'll likely never see an all portable update like this one again. Something non-portable is going to squeeze in-between the now finished NNK and Tomb Raider's unlock on March 5. I may try to get back to Ys Origins now that the new one is out to apply pressure.

This is true. I got Ocelet, and it's definitely starting to pickup. I like how there's a trophy called Problem Solved, Series Over if you kill him.
Clash of Heroes for PS3. This is a lot of fun! Looks nice, too. I wish it did a better job informing the player as to what the unique enemy pieces do, though.
SMT: Strange Journey (DS): Started playing this again, for the umpteenth time. I'm really enjoying it, now that I'm good at SMT games! I'm stuck in Sector Carina, the shopping mall dungeon. I can't figure out how to advance the plot. I found the Elve, it got swallowed up by some horrific pig demon, and...now what? I've found a ton of portals and can't open any of them. Also, I killed the toilet demon.
Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS): It's tough playing this on Hard/Classic when you don't fully understand all the mechanics. I'm playing under the assumption that the game will not fuck me over too badly if I permanently lose one character or another. So far, I'm doing ok. I think I'm on Chapter 9 and I've done a couple of the paralogues.

Yeah, those games give you plenty of characters, you really shouldn't worry about losing characters Unless they're the ones pulling your weight.
The game gives you a ringer, Frederick, in the early game. Even on Hard he can protect entire flanks by himself.

Yeah, on Lunatic mode using him wisely is very important. Having him die means it's impossible to continue if you aren't past chapter 4.
SMT: Strange Journey (DS): Still playing this! I'm at 43 hours, and I'm in the FOURTH Sector, and there are AT LEAST THREE MORE TO GO. Agh! I have such a profound love/hate relationship with this game. The setting is so fucking awesome, the atmosphere is killer, the art is fantastic (Kaneko!), and the demon co-op system is interesting. But oh, my God, there are stretches in each sector where you hit a spot where you don't know where the fuck to go next and are forced to wander around blindly until you find the right unlock or doohickey or whatever that will take you forward, and it is SO BORING. I actually started to nod off a couple of times today while I was playing this. This is not the first time I've nodded off while playing Strange Journey, either! I can remember doing it a couple of times in Sector Bootes, in what seems like a lifetime ago.
I still love this game but I can't wait to finish it so I can get to Nocturne!

I haven't played them all, but that's by far my favorite game in the series. There's no teenage melodrama, and I love the space theme. I wish they'd do an Overclocked version of that on Vita.
