Nah, LS has more interesting mechanics and characters. People just prefer XC because none of them can finish it from all the side quests and it being more animu.
I hope we see a lot of DS rpgs come to the Wii U now that the control has a screen in it
Lost in an Odyssey
The main stand outs seem to be Tales of Vesperia and Ni No Kuni.
There's the Final Fantasy games too but big "meh" for me on that one. I'm thinking of getting Tales of Vesperia for Xbox though since I'm kind of missing them and I enjoyed the demo. I also wouldn't mind it if they re-released Skies of Arcadia for PSN/XBL.

i still like Last Story better, but if i'm going to call Ni no Kuni dumb, i can't ignore that Last Story is a step away from greatness because of a few bad executions as well

You could use Dolphin and it will look like a real current-gen game.
