Thread: JRPGs

  1. It's good, I actually just started playing through it again. Has a myriad of problems such as having to go into the skill menu every like 5 battles to learn a new skill. But there's a lot of fights where you could grind, but if you use your head it'll be a lot more fun.

Also some great characters, and the mini-novels can be really fucking good stories. I have not beat it yet though so maybe it takes a dump later on. There are however, god awful puzzles.

  2. Lost Odyssey is good. The only thing I didn't like was loading, but I heard installs helped.

  3. Yeah it does help a lot. Also that game has some ugly/dumb character designs. Hell designs in general, the cars in the beginning of the game that have six wheels up front, then a giant elongated back that looks like it should tip over at any time?

    Truth.

Dark Souls makes up for the lack of quality JRPGs this generation on home consoles.

Besides Dark Souls and Demon Souls, the DS is the platform of choice for JRPGs. So many amazing games on that thing.

I'd actually take a PSP/Vita over the DS if I was after decent JRPGs. That's not to say the DS doesn't have a good assortment, but man...the latter half of the PSP's life was JRPG heaven.

  9. Buy both and a PS2 and you're done. FOREVER.

There are a ridiculous amount of PS3-exclusive JRPGs coming this year.
