Yeah that dirt diver whiptail thing doesn't provide any multiplier in the Satirn version as far as I've ever experience.
my Saturn is packed away now, so this thread is outa my hands

Not to turn this thread into Gamefaqs two, but can anyone tell me how to beat that stupid green angel thing at the end? I got all the way to the end with three continues and he ate them all up.![]()
I donno what to say : / It seems like one of those things where you either know what Guardian is gonna do or die figuring it out.
I guess you should at least ensure your speed is jacked to 100%... uh, ... beyond that I'm at a loss for giving helpful advice in text.
Man that sucks. I got gotten through the game almost perfect and that green bastard ruined it. Any advice on strats or weapons would be great.Originally Posted by dog$

Otherwise, the weapon you use is Free Range. This is not an opinion.
Oh and be sure to to make Stage 2 your second selection (among the first three) - the plant just gets whooped by Free Range. I usually did 3-2-1. Speaking of stage 2, there is a 1-up hidden in the tops of the trees somewhere (the part where you're transitioning from above the forest to going into it). Standard shot will find it but I was never consistent in getting it.
Maybe the 1up is from one of those little enemies popping in from the background? That's what I always thought. You'll want to use hunter to get it. That works every time. But I went with 1-2-3 stage selection and I'm not sure if stage 3 has a hunter power-up there.
The last boss is by far the most difficult thing in the game. I had the same problem - perfect games up to the last boss and I'd be lucky to clear it with a few lives. On top of that, you have to worry about destroying it in a certain amount of time or you get the bad ending. You'll have to learn the attacks. With the 25 minute game times, this can take a while. I guess if you die there and use continues, you could get more practice in that way, right? Never tried it. You could also run through the boss attack if you have the PS version. As with the rest of the game, it's all about using the free range weapon (as dog$ said). If you don't have that, it's much more difficult. And obviously, going in with three craws helps. With those two things, you can take out at least the first two forms quickly, hitting it at close range. The extra lives you've been collecting could take you through the rest.

EDIT: I just beat the game. But sadly, I got the bad ending. I have a feeling beating him is going to require me being able to keap free range on him most the time.
