Thread: Guardians of the Galaxy

  1. With them making everything dark and gritty and "realistic" then yes. I really dig the expanded universe idea even if they swap actors. Just make the movies stand on their own too

  2. Latest word is it takes place 95% off Earth, and it'll involve the Nova Corps in some way. Sounds like Marvel's gonna show WB what they should have done with Green Lantern.

  3. Never read this comic, but I had assumed it took place entirely off-Earth?

Anyway, glad to hear this...should have a different feel than your usual superhero flick.

    Green Lantern sucked, BTW.

  4. The leader of the team is half-human, so I'm guessing we'll see him on Earth right at the start, then he gets whisked off to space, finds out about his heritage, has his adventure and doesn't come back til the end to warn Earth about Thanos.

  5. Isn't Star-Lord half kree?

Oh and rumors about Iron Man 3 having him fly off in his Deep Space Armor are being circulated about.

This would go with the current Guardians of the Galaxy series that just started.

  8. Apparently El Mayimbe is wrong more times then he is right. I wanna believe the guy but he has spotty history on these things.

  9. Dave Bautista has been cast as Drax the Destroyer. I guess his post-wrestling movie career is going well.

I was really hoping for Momoa to get the part but he apparently asked for too much which is funny because he's not exactly the most in demand actor but I suppose Bautista will do okay. The role probably isn't that dialogue heavy given that he's playing a more physicial character and will be under a good amount of prosthetics.

I'll be really curious as to who will get the Gamora part since that's equally tough to cast given that the actress will have to be a real bombshell and do a lot of combat.

    Hopefully it's not Chyna.
