Shipping brings it close to $50 though.

  2. the pink XL is so great

I've been weirdly okay with the lack of a second stick (even with virtual d-pad swimming, lol), as I was in the demo, but it's early.

Good to use that angst on the issues that really matter.
    Boo, Hiss.

  4. I started playing some today and honestly, the camera stuff isn't too squirrely.

Tap L to center behind your guy, or use a virtual d-pad. It's nothing like that Kid Icarus horseshit.

  5. There's also a panel you can put on the touchscreen that's for boss monsters. When you enter a zone that has one, tap that boss' icon. Now it's 'targeted' - just tap L and rather than the camera spinning behind the direction you face, it spins onto the boss. Pretty nice.

Also: can anyone confirm that the Japanese CPP XL works with US 3DSes? I'd hate to get one and find out some weird bullshit region thing makes it useless.

Took only about 18 killed Lagi's to get my plate for my greaves. And i made my Tenabra long sword. having way to much fun with this. i like it better than p3rd. just feels better.

  7. I've sunk around 8 hours into this now, mostly multi player with my son.
    I Like It!
It only took 6 entries across 4 platforms to finally find one I don't hate. The second analog makes a world of difference.
I still don't like how your initial attack will knock your enemy off to the side so that if you try to do a combo you'll be hitting nothing, but ya get used to it. We've done all the easy non hunt quests and are now trying to take down the firebreathing wyvern. We got him down a few times, but havent been able to seal the deal yet. Once while we were fighting him an Azuros (or something like that) got involved and we took it down, which was nice because he kicked our ass once earlier in the game.

so what is it about this one that you dont hate. because to me they have all pretty much been the same except for minor graphical and hit box tweeks

    What weapons are you using?

Looking up the trees now and not upgrading into dead ends will save you countless hours of farming.

God, there's so much you need to know. I don't even know where to start.
HA! HA! I AM USING THE INTERNET!!1

  10. My biggest problem with the 3D age has been camera. When I first tried MonHun on the PS2, I was expecting PSO with dinosaurs. Between the gay analog attacks and shitty camera, I just couldn't get into it.
The PSP versions got rid of the dumb analog attack scheme, but I wasnt down with he claw.
I tried MonHun Tri, and though the control and camera were better, lol wii, and it bugged me that the areas were so damn small.
I finally have got to the point where I will let the game be the game it is instead of the game i want or expect it to be.
I am using dual blades (my preferred PSO/ Universe weapon) and have switched from the starter set to the bone set. I've only been able to upgrade once, so it's not like I'm too far down any path. My kid is using the starter bow. I used the pieces from that one big dude (don't know if I was even close to its name. He was like an armadillo mixed with a bear) to make chest armor and upgraded it a few times.
