Just jumping in to agree with this. I bought my PS3 for The Last Guardian. The thing is nothing but an expensive (and sub par) Blu Ray player. I should sell it and get a Samsung standalone.

Hey guys, here's a money saving tip:

This fall the new consoles will (probably) be released. They will definitely be expensive. There will (most likely) be games that you see trailers for that look AWESOME and will make you want to buy these expensive machines. DON'T BUY THE SYSTEM UNTIL THE GAMES YOU REALLY WANT ARE RELEASED. If you're lucky, there might even be some kind of cool limited edition system bundle that actually comes with the game you want!

This part is what I've been thinking as well, although hindsight being 20/20, I would have had to wait forever for the Yakuza PS3 and the Gears or Star Wars 360s.

What I am really hoping happens is that I wait long enough for a cool bundle to come out that I lose interest, and one never does. A couple of shitty launches with no must have exclusives would really get some momentum behind that.

Korly's right. I'm not buying any hardware until there are several must have games released that I can't get on PC or anywhere else. I think I'm going to be waiting a while. I'm sick of getting new hardware and then waiting a year for more than a trickle of good games.

I waited to get a ps3 and then got the 80gig metal gear bundle. Seems to go for an ok amount on amazon and eBay. I assume its because its backwards compatible with everything.

It's because it's Metal Gear, and that are nutty fuckers like Chux and Josh out there. It doesn't even have hardware BC, does it? I'm pretty sure that stopped with the 20 and 60GB versions.
