You'd be surprised how reasonable this can be if you're not a filthy hoarder and are moving in the same general area. Cost me under $400 to have everything I owned moved. I got to sip lemonade on the porch while 2 strong young men did all the work.

You're right, it isn't hard. But it is tedious and time consuming. I've done it quite a few times and now that I'm not in my 20's anymore and I sorta feel shitty asking my friends to help me move for the 8th time I decided it's just easier to save up a few hundred dollars and have a couple of guys get it done in a few hours.
