Thread: Resident Evil 0-3: Would You Want Re-makes/Re-releases of These?

  1. It 2, ElCapichan?

I feel the same way. I'm happy with the GC REmake.
RE2 has less b-movie charm to lose in a remake, and so much to gain.

  2. Resident Evil 0-3: Would You Want Re-makes/Re-releases of These?

This is nice but I find it depressing that Capcom feels the need to just re release some old shit instead of redoing the formula with RE2. You can't tell me that people would ignore a redone RE2. I blame me for buying the ICO collection.

  3. Does that have the extra stuff from the PAL version of ICO?

  4. I think so.

I agree. I think people forget how far apart they were though. "IV" was a "launch window" title in 1991, while Bloodlines didn't come out until 1994. Other than console wars and typically way after the fact, they were never in direct competition.

I loved RE1 and REmake, but I have played that story so much now, and considering it is just a higher resolution of the same thing on GC, that makes me want to pass on it even more. RE2 was actually my first intro into the RE series, and even though I have played through it quite a bit and picked it up for GC I think, I would love to play that story again with the same kind of changes and updates they did with REmake. I may decide to go back and play REmake one day but RE2make would be day one.

I think any sane RE fan would want a RE2 remake at this point.

I'm hoping that they're building up to a RE mega collection in one package similar to the Sony/Microsoft collections of their major games so the upcoming RE port, remake of 2, remake of 3 (although not as necessary IMO), & a port of Code Veronica maybe.

There is no way anyone still at Capcom in 2014 cares enough to do that, though I'd love to see it. Remember, Shinji Mikami was still around to remake his own game for REmake. That's where the care came from. Just pretend RE5-6 don't exist and that The Evil Within is where the real series resumes.

LOL hell no. They aren't doing that. Look at the lazy ass shit they did for RE4.

RE2 remake is a monster amount of work - same as building a whole new game. My issue is that something is fucked at Capcom where they can't see that would be a good investment. Maybe they can rip the Morrigan sprite to Ultra SF4 AE2015 though.
