  1. NFS: HP...still the best PC racer of the gen

I need to get back to that as well.

I tried to squeeze The Lost & the Damned in before The Last of Us, but it's just not clicking with me. The combat is so awful, and the bike gang stuff looks so janky when they try to ride in formation. I guess I should have played this right after the main game and not experience better sandbox games like Red Dead, Sleeping Dogs, The Saboteur, etc. first.

My backup plan for the next week is Famicom stuff, though my trials and tribulations there are in the NES thread.

I been doing building up a pile of shame. mostly of games ive wanted to try out that are relatively cheap used now.
Armored Core V,Bulletstorm, Witcher 2, Front Mission Evolved, so far Bulletstorm is ahead of the pack in fun and quality. The Witcher 2 is a good game, i just cant get into it, and FME and ACV are dissapointing as all hell. good i can trade em back in and get some more used games. wondering what else i shoudl try.

  4. I'm playing a shitload of Tekken lately. More than usual. And I just started the Strongbad PC game.

File this under well trained five year old:

I was just playing The Lost & Damned. My daughter comes in and goes, "What are you playing?" I tell her, "Grand Theft Auto." She responds, "Is that like Sleeping Dogs?"

  7. Man fuck E3 I just got Kirbys Epic Yarn new for like $8 and it's so fucking adorable.

This being a Wii game and only 480p just goes to show how style can outshine resolution sometimes.

  8. After letting it sit in its box for over eight months, I've finally started getting into Guild Wars 2. God damn this is a pretty game.

  9. I unearthed a bunch of NGPC games while looking for Link's Awakening (which it turns out I don't have (does anyone want to sell me a copy) and have been playing those. There have been hits (SNK vs Capcom, Faselei!) and misses (Biomotor Unitron), but the one that hooked me is Dark Arms. The internet can't confirm that Sacnoth had a hand in its development, but they must have. It's so Sacnothy.

Like most Sacnoth games, it's great and also horrible. It's like someone left a Boktai Mercedes parked in a bad neighborhood. Even without a stereo and with cinder blocks under the tire bays, it's still really nice.

Man, I haven't heard or thought about Sacnoth in a long, long time. Now I'm getting Koudelka flashbacks.
