The part that the reviewer says "appears to be literally impossible on normal difficulty" took me about three tries and just takes a minute to get to from the checkpoint.

I went in dry on hard right from the start and I think life sucked for 10 minutes in the Himalayas once ever. Once the pogo problem was patched the thing was butter from start to finish. Games gerbilism IS dead

Pretty much confirms suspicions that deadlines are so tight and the content of the review matters so little that reviewers either watch let's play vids or blaze through it on easy most of the time

Best remake ever, the sprites are amazing. The only remake I can think of that approved and also stayed true to the original this well was GCN Resident Evil 1.

In the original, you fought Dracula first in Transylvania then Magica in Transylvania the second time, right? And the fetch quests were non-existant apart from the moon one? My memory is a little hazy.

Other way around, Magica first. Then you visit Transylvania again and go to the same boss room and fight Dracula Duck. The moon level only made you look for a single key.
