Thread: The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds

  1. This game is running what seems like a billion frames per second even with the 3D at full blast. I kind of really like it.

Read many reviews not written by fanboys, it's not some out-of-left-field opinion.

As for what can be better, the Phantom Hourglass style but with the 3DS hardware would be far preferable.

I don't see why critiquing a game is "crying."
idk man I'm 50/50 on this. After a huge dry spell of good new zelda games this is really refeshing. The graphics don't bother me at all and they're ok to me. Trying not to go fanboy about it since it's obviously this is really a true sequel to LttP but overall I have no complaints about the game.

  3. Y'all are ruining Glass Joe's magical experience with your ignorant complaints. The last thing a guy wants to see during the honeymoon-phase is TNL bitching about his waifu gameu. Can't you just appreciate how pretty she is without poking holes?

I like the game a lot, it's just not a good looking game. I don't know why this is so controversial.

  6. God damn this game is good. I've played through a few of the dungeons so far, and they've really changed things up quite a bit. While they still maintain certain Zelda Dungeon traditions, on the whole the dungeons feel very different from most other Zelda titles. I'm glad that upgrading of Items has made a comeback (although handled differently than in SS), it's a mechanic I hope shows up in the next console iteration also. I'm not sure if I'm totally sold though on the whole buying/renting items and almost complete non-linearity when it comes to dungeon order. I think it takes a hit in structure and flow because of it, I'm just not sure yet if that out weighs the pros it brings. All that said this game already shits all over PH and ST, and it's nice to have a handheld Zelda that is just as good as it's console counterparts again.

How do you upgrade the items? The only thing I've upgraded is the Master Sword, and since I'm about halfway through the game but I must not have done whatever triggers the item upgrading.

  8. I think you have to buy the items.

  9. You need to be collecting those little baby squid things. If you don't know what I'm talking about there's a cave near the lake with a big squid that asks you to save her babies. So for every 10 you collect, you can upgrade one of the items you own (have to own it and not a rental). All the upgrades make the item use less energy, and usually have a bigger effect. Like the bow shoots 3 arrows, or the ice rod drops 4 giant ice balls.

Thanks John, I knew nothing of that part. I guess I need to hang out at the lake more instead of saving sages.
