Yeah, Thanos kind of ruins everybody.

For those who never read the comic, starting clockwise at 1 o'clock we have:

1. Vision with his guts ripped out
2. Wolverine with his bones turned to sponge
3. Quasar turned into a smoking crater at Thanos' feet
4. Namor and She-Hulk turned into a big clump of pube hair
5. Iron Man with his noggin torn off
6. What's left of Thor after being turned into glass and shattered
7. Spider-Man with his face caved in by a rock
8. What's left of Nova after being turned into toy blocks and stomped on (srsly)
9. Cyclops suffocated by a magical block of Jell-o

Cyclops, Vision, Iron Man and A-Team don't work in the same sentence.

Except remember when Infinity Gauntlet was released. The three leaders of The Avengers were Iron Man, Thor, and Cap. Vision was married to Scarlet Witch and took over the Wonder Man role. He was pretty damn powerful. And Cyclops lead the X-Men and he was chosen (story wise), because he was the leader of the mutants.

Come on.

plus cannon fodder, because they were to distract Thanos while Silver Surfer comes and swipes the glove. Which didn't quite work out.
