Oh, the 3DS is definitely at fault. Nintendo is like Germany right now, fighting on two fronts. But to carry that analogy, Sony is too and MS is in the middle of everything. Which is what is hurting them right now.
As I've said before, they completely blew their load in January. There is nothing left to announce. They're not getting any third party support, and they don't have Sony's 40 studios to work on tons of stuff at once. I think the 3DS may be at fault too. They probably had to redirect a lot of effort to rescue that, and it likely set the Wii U behind.

I'm ok with the 3DS causing them to leave the Wii U behind... because I have the 3DS, and not a Wii U.

Nah, it's a lose because the WiiU is 'good enough' tech. The 3DS isn't.
I like the new haircut for Bayonetta. She doesn't look butch at all...
