What you are ultimately doing by posting spoilers is saying I don't want you to read or comment in this thread because I can't be mature enough to let other people experience it themselves. Here in this case I did read the book and so I already know how it ends, but I recently stopped going into the Star Trek thread because somebody posted something. If TNL is going to be a place where its not safe to read about movies or games that aren't even out yet without fear of them getting spoiled then what's the fucking point.

Did it? Or does Hollywood have a history of making trailers that make you think one thing and only to have the final movie look nothing like what you were expecting? Take Skyfall for example. I was expecting a movie that was completely different from what we got thanks to the trailer. Flat out saying what the ending is and having the trailer show you something that could be a spoiler are two totally different things.
Also: Star Trek isn't out yet, so that was a dick move.

Trailers have been doing that for a while now. It's aggravating as fuck.
