Fuck Nintendo. Game Gear games look so good. The Master System could have been so much more.

The Fray and Shining Force videos say "Game Gear startup" in the emulator. I think the videos are mislabeled as SMS. The GG can display a fuckload more colours than the SMS so it makes sense that on average its games are going to look better.

On a related note, I finally got the English version of this up and running, so now I can play it with my 360 pad! Just in time for vacation, too!
Even still, these are games that came out after the SMS was dead in multiple regions. They were later releases on 8-bit Sega hardware. Games from 1987 may not look as advanced as ones from the '90s but they were they were high end console visuals at the time. Of course there are ugly games on it but that certainly applies to the NES as well. The "Nintendo forcing quality" comment doesn't make much sense.
