does this game still let you play online only 4 or 5 times a day

Way more than that for free. Unlimited times if you put quarters in it!

You can hold 5 online tokens at a time. As soon as you dip below 5 it gives you another one every 30 minutes. By the time you've played 5 matches it's probably been 20 or so minutes. Then run through arcade mode once and you're a minute or 2 away from getting a 6th free match. After that, come back again in 2.5 hours!

If you buy quarters (4 for a dollar or cheaper if you buy in bulk) those quarters are winner stays. You could play off one quarter for THE REST OF YOUR LIFE if you're good enough.
