Thread: Super Mario 3D World (Wii U)

  1. Hey, so I am seriously considering picking this up and borrowing a friends Wii U. Do I have to collect a bunch of stars and shit to beat the game, or can I just play through the levels (and maybe there are warp pipes). I know, broken record on the rosalina thing. Apparently there is no way to transfer saves on the Wii U though.

  2. There are a few levels that need a certain amount of green stars to unlock, but not to the point of you having to find all three green stars in every level leading up to those locked levels.

As for Rosalina, you unlock her very early into the first bonus world, so if you beat the game you're on the brink of adding her. She's a fun playable character and quite useful thanks to her spin move.

Oh so in order to unlocked her I have to find a bunch of green stars?

  4. Most of the green stars aren't that difficult to get. Just enjoy it and don't worry about it. You'll be playing as Rosalina before you even know it
    Donk

  5. Not specifically to unlock her, but to progress enough that you reach that level where you unlock her, yes.

I think if you just pick up whichever green stars you come across, there's a good chance that will probably be enough or at least be close to.

The bite sized levels in this, which I am convinced are a remnant of its portable origins, really help my collectible OCD. Some of the previous games have been irritating, because missing something meant replaying a too long level. In this one, replaying a level a time or two to get everything is quick and still enjoyable. Granted, I'm only up to 2-2 as I types this, but I have all the green stars, stamps, and gold flags so far. Hopefully the length stays consistent while the difficulty ramps up.

This is addictive as hell. I'm up to 48 stars and 13 stamps. As long as I can get everything in ~3 tries, I don't even get too irritated.

  8. How do you feel about your appearance in the game? Was that a genuine return to form for you, or another project you had to take on for funding leading up to the release of your Island reboot? You look handsome in HD

I'm the exact same way. As long as the levels stay short, I don't mind replaying multiple times to get all the stars.
Korly-"Everyone here is an asshole, SURPRISE!"

  10. This game is nearly perfect.
