But I want to forget. I actually had that PCB several years back... but not for long. I think I bought it from Werewolf!

Dracula's Curse is the best one.
To boldly go where lots of men have gone before...

That's my recollection, but it's a ~25 year old one.

  5. Shifting away from the older stuff for a moment and getting more into the current generation, I think it gets pretty interesting when it comes to specifically the PS3 vs Xbox 360 exclusives.

Wii I'll leave out for the moment because I just wanted to focus on the main two but when I looked at the list of exclusives I compiled for both PS3/360 consoles it's not as disparate as it may seem. Generally I think PS3 has the 360 beat with their set of current gen exclusives and HD remakes since Sony's embraced the HD remake business model more and have a lot more in house studios to pump these high quality games out but the 360 has a different set of exclusives that don't fare that badly in comparison (and yes I am aware that some of these are available on PC as well):

    • Uncharted Trilogy/Halo Reach, Halo 3 & Halo 4 - AAA blockbuster system seller games.
    • Ratchet & Clank Future Trilogy/Banjo Kazooie Nuts and Bolts, Kameo: Elements of Power, 'Splosion Man - Mascot'ish action/platformer games.
    • Resistance: Fall of Man Trilogy/Gears of War Trilogy - Shooter heavy alien invasion games.
    • Gran Turismo/Forza - High quality sim racing games.
    • Guacamelee/Shadow Complex - Metroidvania style games.
    • Motorstorm/Project Gotham Racing - Alternate exclusive racing games.
    • Metal Gear 4/Splinter Cell Conviction - Stealth based 3rd person games.
    • Infamous 1 & 2/Crackdown 1 & 2 - Open world superhero'ish style gameplay.
    • Killzone 2 & 3/Left 4 Dead 1 & 2 - Alternative console exclusive FPS's.
    • Tales Of Xillia/Lost Odyssey - "Main" non Final Fantasy RPG's
    • Tales of Xillia 2/Infinite Undiscovery - I just kind of threw this one together so I can't really speak for Tales 2 but we'll see.
    • Ni No Kuni/Tales of Vesperia - Cel shaded RPG's.
    • Dust 514/Hybrid - Platform exclusive online shooters.
    • God of War 3/Ninja Gaiden II - Melee based action games.
    • God of War: Ascension/Gears of War Judgement - Prequel action games that nobody really asked for.
    • Heavenly Sword/Ninja Blade - Alternative melee action games next to stuff like God of War and Ninja Gaiden.
    • Valkryia Chronicles/Halo Wars - Strategy based games (although different in execution).
    • Ridge Racer 7/Forza Horizon - "Arcadey" racers.
    • Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time/Mark of the Ninja - Cartoony stealth action platformers.
    • Demon's Souls/Witcher 2: Assassins of kings enhanced edition - Action RPG's.
    • Warhawk/Iron Brigade - Tower defense'ish 3rd person shooter hybrids.

Unique harder to compare PS3 titles:

    Journey
    Flower
    Heavy Rain
    Beyond Two Souls
    3D Dot Game Heroes
    Last of Us
    Wipeout HD
    Warhawk
    Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm
    Disgaea 4
    LittleBigPlanet
    Fat Princess
    Dead Nation

Unique harder to compare 360 titles:

    Fable series
    Alan Wake
    Trials HD/Evolution
    State of Decay
    Rockstar's Table Tennis
    Project Sylpheed
Ace Combat 6: Fires of Liberation
    Naruto Rise of a Ninja
    Naruto The Broken Bond
    Dead Rising
    Condemned Criminal Origins
    Toy Soldiers
    Toy Soldiers Cold War

This isn't an all encompassing list but it's interesting how both systems ended up with regards to their own exclusives and approaches at gaming, some will like both and others will veer more towards a certain brand or type of game. I didn't even list the HD remakes/editions that both systems have that are really good draws depending on what you're more into although the 360 has the more quirky stuff.

PS: SSJN will love these lists.

What does any of that have to do with this thread?

  7. Oh I'm sorry, is the thread still not called "Which system still has the best exclusive line-up"?

I don't want to get into some of the reaches beyond the non-exclusives. Are you arguing that the PS3 or 360 is the answer to the question the thread poses?

  9. This topic was crazily defined anyway. "Best console with all sorts of rules for what counts as exclusive". The thread was saved because it turned into 'what good exclusives existed on each system', I actually learned about a bunch.

I thought Will's post was fine. Don't really agree with some groupings, but it compared what was on both current gen systems.

Unless you think it was more on topic when discussing personal preference for castlevania games.

When did that occur exactly? Every useful post in the thread, e.g. Shou's and NZE's, followed the guidelines that kept it from being like 1,000 others all over the internet.
