i think the reason SMS will sell like hotcakes is because its been 6 years since the last one.
can't wait to see the commercials.
Mario Sunshine is going to be fantastic and I think everyone agrees about that. My topic is how well is it really going to sell? In another topic people were saying how this game is going to help Nintendo kick some ass. Well I dont think so. Sure it will sell well but I dont think its going to make a lot of casual gamers jump onto the Cube wagon. My reasoning you ask? Well look how well Mario 64 sold. Amazing right? Yes it did sell like mad cause it was just so damn innovative, looked amazing, and it was like the first major 3d game. Sunshine doesnt really have that going for it does it? Sure Shines going to be a lot of damn fun to play but that really isnt going to persuade a lot of people. What do you guys think?

I'm sure it will sell millions but let's face it, it's not going to propel the Gamecube into the lead of the console race or anything.
Sure its been 6 years but Mario 64 was so damn fresh. 3d was new back then and I think that really helped push Mario 64 big time. Sure Mario Shine will sell to all the Cube owners but I'm talking about people thinking its going to help Cube sell and help it catch up to Sony. I say no way, Sony's got a stranglehold on the market and nobody can do anything about it.

If it's a great game (hah, if), a million at least.
Innovation and sales are completely unrelated.Yes it did sell like mad cause it was just so damn innovative
Tomb Raider was pretty major.and it was like the first major 3d game.
It'll sell great.

Shit, I really only care about Sunshine selling one copy: mine.

Has there ever been a Mario game that hasn't sold (really) well? Nintendo better pimp this game out come August.
I think a major part of the reason it'll sell is because its been 6 years since the last one. I'm no blind fool, and I know it's not going to make it blow past sony in terms of overall sales, but I do think it'll make the GC number 1 in sales for at least 2 weeks or so. That and I think some of the "I don't give a damn about mario anymore" people will want to see it out of curiousity.
