This is why I liked the movies, they were just a single self contained spot that wasn't trying to tie in five other series just to push the sales of otherwise unrelated stuff (see: Marvel Movies thread, post #238 for more info! Excelsior!). I really liked the Avengers and am really looking forward to Thanos, but I fear we're going too far into making the movies just like the comics instead of trying to make an enjoyable movie that just so happens to be based on a franchise.

I still haven't rewatched Avengers 2 since it came out and I thought it was overly bloated and too crowded in the first place. I'll probably give it another viewing in the lead up to part 3 to see how I feel a second time. As for BvS I'm going tomorrow, I'll be happy enough if the fight scenes are as good as you guys say.

Meh, most of this stuff is forgettable garbage. So very little of it is good.

First two batman's from back in the day and batman the animated series. Maybe some of the other cartoons. Maybe. That us all that's good.

This current films are just modern godzilla movies. 45 minutes of shit so you can watch a big rad thing beat wholesale ass.

  3. I'm cool with that exchange rate.

Actually, it was an empty island. It just happened to have a lot of buildings on it.

I don't think it was a flawless movie or anything, but at least criticize it based on things that are actually in the movie.

  6. That's one of the reasons I liked Deadpool so much. No saving the world, no cities destroyed, no doomsday weapons or all-powerful beings. It was just a funny, violent, potty-mouthed revenge flick, that's all.

I wasn't referring to BvS (which I haven't seen), just superhero movies in general. I'm fairly desensitized to the wanton destruction that goes on in them. It's not cool or interesting anymore, since it happens in every one. Except Deadpool, which was clearly a prime example (like the beloved Dredd) of a lower budget forcing the movie have merit outside of graphics.

It sounds like you just want movies about regular people instead of people with super powers. That's not a bad thing at all, but I feel like you're mostly looking in the wrong place if you're going to superhero movies to try and find close knit tales about personal issues. It's great when they implement that sort of thing but what you're talking about is already a separate thing going on.

I have no idea whatsoever how you got all that shit from what I said.

I'm actually a big fan of superhero movies; I was just expressing fatigue that each and every one released has to destroy whole cities or threaten the planet and appreciation for one that kept shit simple for once.

That's where the "super" comes in though.
