Thread: 2013 NFL Season.

  1. Jeff Ireland is a horrible GM, so at least the Dolphins finally got rid of him. As well as Mike Sherman, who was also terrible as the OC.

Still not sure if I agree. Depending on which metric you use RW isn't far behind Luck. He's a smart, athletic QB who could have similar sucess with the same talent around him. Don't forget that if RW were taller, he would have been a first-rounder just like the other QBs taken in the 2012 draft, possibly before Tannehill. When you're listed height is 5' 11" as a QB, not too many teams will be willing to take a chance. Unless you're the Seahawks, of course. That was the only real knock on RW entering the draft.

He has way more talent around him. His line is better. His RB is better. His defense is better. His receivers were probably comparable, until Reggie Wayne got hurt.

  4. He's also 13-3 in the toughest division in the league though and he's doing it with 18 million dollars of WRs out, 3/5 of the line out for half a season

I'm not sure what more he has to prove, really

I'm not saying he's as good as Luck, but the vote is pretty darn close

  5. It's because Wilson is black.

  6. I don't know. I mean, Luck is more of a prototypical QB. He is a lot like Peyton Manning with extra toughness (he can run much better than Peyton). But I don't measure a QB by 'who looks the most like Peyton Manning'. Wilson is the smartest running QB of the generation, and of the ones who run significantly, the best as a passer.

Rodgers and Luck can both run well, but they aren't in WIlson's league running the ball.

And now you're grading on a curve. If you have to put a prefix before QB, there's a problem.

edit: Luck also had a higher yards per carry and more TDs than Wilson running the ball.

edit2: We're off topic though. Wilson is an NFL QB. Griffin isn't.

  9. Nick Foles was also in that draft class and he has less interceptions, less games played(13), and a higher QB rating(over rated) than Mr. Wilson (I swear everytime I hear Russell Wilson I think of Dennis the Menace).

Point: I have to agree with Yoshi on this ... QB is the LEAST important player on the team. He has to have the ability to read the defense, has to hold onto the ball(less interceptions and fumbles), and get the ball to the open man (arm strength and reading after the snap).

Defense, an offensive line, and a good RB.

The best singular 'box score' stat for a QB is YPA.

He had a bit of a fumbling issue this year, but he's still at a turnover every 30 passes+rushes

So he wins, he puts up good numbers, he's had some significant comebacks, I don't know what he's supposed to do
