Thread: The Official Super Mario Sunshine Thread

  1. One of the few times I disagree with Thugg, actually. Im quite please witht his lil game here.

    On Roses comments...

Uh, shooting water into a plants mouth is difficult? You cant properly manage your water? Bashing a Mario game for being heavy on collecting coins?

Say, I dont mean to start a flame war or anything, but two of these problems have more to do with a lack of skill than fault in the game itself, and the last one is just rather silly when taking into account the fact that its a MARIO sequel.

If you cant hack it, say you cant. Its not the games fault.

Lets all flash back to Evil Mog bashing Maximo because he couldnt get past the fith level or so.
So I forced my hands in my pockets and felt with my thumbs and gallantly handed her my very last piece of gum.

Or why not learn how to effectively play the game by managing your resoures, which happen to be plentiful?

For a "kiddy" game, its sure doing a nice job of pointing out the lack of skill that many adult gamers possess.

I think you hit the nail on the head Orochi!
Honestly, was Petey Pirranah really that hard?

  4. Managing resources better? No safety net when falling? This is not Mario.

I got around to changing my sig n stuff too, so as not to mislead anyone who missed my very important post.

Your sig doesn't make sense. It wasn't Miyamoto's game to break. He didn't even direct it.

The foundation of your above argument relies upon the assumption that this is an innovative game...

Have you ever played a mario game before? No really, have you? Tell me which one doesn't have coins in it, I'd really like to know. It isn't a tired concept, it is an integral part of the atmosphere & heritage of the series. It is one of the things that makes it a mario game.
...which you imply that it is not. If it's a Mario, then it should play like one.

I know this "fall short" statement is an opinion, but really, Rayman 2 or Napple Tale?
Yes, really. Honestly, I was smiling and occassionally laughing when playing those other platformers. In SMS I was yelling and frustrated. What matters is whether I'm having fun.

Bullshit, anything Mario goes through him. Shut the fuck up.

  8. I don't know what all the fuss us about.
I've used profanity at sucn an unhealthy degree while playing this game, I'm sure my little brother is forever ruined. Yes, the game is frustrating, but I'm as addicted to grabbing the next Shine as I was the Star, or getting a perfect 100.
This game has me in a trance.
I've wasted too much time writing, and must get back to playing.
Can Ikaruga or Star Fox top this? I can't wait to find out.

  9. Using the jet pack through the entire resevoir would destroy the game play. And I really don't find it hard to "manage my resources". The amount of water the tank holds is more than generous.

No safety net when falling? This is not Mario.
I don't know about you, but I remember a lot of times in past mario games where if you fucked up a jump, there was no safety net. If you landed on another platform that saved you from death, you were lucky and given a second chance to get it (especially in the later levels).

But hey, you can't please everyone all of the time. If you don't like it...you don't like it. Plain and simple. Everyone move on, nothing to see here...

Well, If you are having trouble with the first boss, maybe it is doing something slightly diffrent...

    Just a theory
