This is the old way of thinking.

Who cares about those older games, though?
It's a fair question. I've long said that everyone bitching about backward compatibility is full of shit and that almost no one actually uses it. Well over half my Wii use has been for VC games though. I think a lot of this service's success depends on the streaming quality.
I used the nVidia Grid beta on the Shield. It was in SF, CA and I was here in Seattle. Before it went to hell I was pretty impressed. I could see myself using it on the Vita.
But probably not. I have way too much to play that looks much better.
"Yes, I think [VR for gaming] is going to be a fad."
I agree with him until proven otherwise.
Way to go out on a limb there.
edit: He specifically says there won't be 100 compelling games. That will be the first/easiest part to discredit.
Is it? All I see so far is a bunch of indie bullshit. For it to not be a fad (for nerds only) it needs to offer a materially better experience for the games people want to play than the nice expensive TVs that everyone has in their house. The more I think about it, the non-gaming stuff seems more interesting. "You'll go where I go, defile what I defile, eat who I eat.” -virtual Genghis Khan
In general I see the exact same arguments about vr as I did about 3d a few years ago. "No this time they figured it out, REALLY"
