Thread: What Are You Playing? (Spring, 2014)

Actually it would just cost shipping, if you're so inclined. You would be receiving my 3rd or 4th copy, purchased used when I recently bought another PS3, which became useless when I bought the Legacy collection a few weeks later.

    Started 2 games last night:

Dark - This game sucks. It's really, really bad. A buddy let me borrow his copy because "Hey Pineapple, you like stealth games, right?" We aren't friends anymore. I will beat it and get the achievements because he couldn't and I want to rub it in his face, but that is the only driving factor to wade through the rest of this dreck.

Hitman: Absolution - Grabbed when it was the free game this month, figured it was one of the old Hitmans but hey it's the newest one I guess. Never actually played a Hitman game before, but this one is very smooth and full of options and I dig it. The contracts are fun too, especially making them. I'm not good at it yet, but it's a lot of fun learning the levels and the different ways to complete them.

Still playing DS2 as well, I thought I could get all the cheevos in one run but alas I was incorrect, so I'm just about to start NG++, and then I just need to blitz through to Wellager (took about 7 hours on NG+) to get the final 2.

  2. OH MAN I wish I had seen this! I *just* picked it up for $7, thank you though!

What a weird game! The fitness commercial intro is hilarious. I have no idea what's happening.

It's pretty neat. Confused the shit out of me, too.

A lot of the channels are commercials for PMCs that you will soon become very familiar with. Some are just for fun, like the snake eater cooking show and the octopus doc.

Get ready for the best worst game of all time.

  4. I am so stoked. It is probably my favorite series for so many reasons.

I love the mix of genius detail (The End dies if you leave the memory card alone for a month? Rad!) and dumb-as-fuck plots in these games.

There are multiple weird intros. You end up with a different one on each play through. I don't remember how many they are, but you MUST see the Hayter one.

I envy you. I wish I could play the game for the first time again.

This one ties it together and makes all of them work somehow.

Once that thing happens it becomes the best game of all time, and that thing is so rad that it makes up for some less than amazing things that happen earlier.

    IMO of course.

  6. So stoked. It's everything I want in an MGS game.

The intro is a television set. There are 8 channels or so, and you can flip between them whenever you want, you don't need to restart or anything if you want to see a specific show/commercial.

Yep, they're channels on fake cable. Watch whatever you want.

I like it a lot too, didn't play a great deal but enough to enjoy it. This game is interestingly very divisive amongst Hitman fans apparently so I guess I'll find out once I get through Hitman: Blood Money HD first.

  10. Dino Crisis 2 (PC) -- I just beat the first island and now I'm onto island two. So far, this game is basically Aliens to Dino Crisis 1's Alien. I was surprised that it recognized the PS4 gamepad and auto-mapped everything sensibly. Shame though that they regressed to pre-rendered backgrounds after going full 3D in Dino Crisis 1.
