Playing D&D in the early 80s was almost cool, or you at least had to try it once.

I'm not equating my lack of desire with coolness. It's just not something I ever really cared about. Comic books too. I'm a pretty poor nerd tbh.

I've noticed that diehard metalheads tend to play D&D more than say, prog stoners.

When people find out I'm into video games, they often assume I love comic books, too. I have never read a superhero comic (nor have I ever played D&D) so it's weird to me even though I know why they associate those things together.
