Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones, The Wire, and Shameless are all good because they're drama without being melodrama, which i find things like Orphan Black to be. Game of Thrones is, but it's designed to revel in it so I like it.

The Fall is really good! I'd say Shameless UK has 2 really good seasons and then massive casting changes pull the show away from the Gallaghers. It gets weird.
Have you seen Skins? I don't know if you'd like it, but I thought it was pretty great. It's about a group og high school friends. The cast changes every year (except the second where there is one carry over and the final season where it catches up with 3 characters years later). It was a big stepping stone for a couple of the actors.
The 100 on netflix is only one season so far, but it's pretty fantastic for a first season sci-fi. The acting is GREAT. Some of the characters I just don't like that much, because the way the scripted them, but I'm nearing the end of the season and those characters aren't so annoying anymore.
I also really enjoy watching haven. It's like a less disgusting(generally) version of fringe. I really like the main characters as well.
