I had the same problem, but the store ordered a controller for me to be shipped to my home with free shipping. Not sure if that's normal or if they were being nice because they were out. I definitely saw a bunch of them held aside in the online order area, though.

I've given up completely on video game sales and clearances in my area, though. Turns out one of the big three at CAG lives nearby, based on his Twitter account. At least I know why everything's always cleaned out before I get there!

That's normal. In fact, you could have just ordered it yourself for free home delivery.

I haven't purchased anything in Best Buy in probably a couple years now. I don't mind continuing to not give them money.

edit: Unless they (likely mistakenly) are trying to use the sale as a loss leader, I don 't understand the point of being short stock the minute they open on the first day of a sale.

It seems like Best Buy B&M selection ( at least in my area) has been crap the past few years, rarely more than two copies of a game on the shelf. Had to head to work at 4 this morning and scheduled store pick up at that time, when I went over at 10:30 they had a few Mario Golf and that was it.

I think that's been the same in most places. Ever Best Buy I've walked in to over the past year has looked like an isolated tornado broke out in the gaming area.

its going to be interesting to see what happens to best buy in a few years. I get the feeling they expanded too fast. The newer stores have never been stocked as well as the early ones.

Yea I was gonna go to my local BB on my lunch break and pick up Mario Golfs and Pokemans. Alas no.

I ordered Kirby Triple Deluxe, Tomodachi Life, and a white pro controller from Best Buy online. I already have Pokemans Eeks, the golf of Mario, and A World Linked Between Zelda.

Edit: Wow. They sure ran out of stock fast. I'm glad I ordered early morning on Sunday. I'm surprised they still have Tomodachi Life in stock. Best Buy really needs to up their game on stocking. One time I came to Best Buy when Sonic Advance 3 was on sale. It wasn't on shelves, but it turned out it was in stock in the back of the store.

Edit 2: Games and controller arrived from Best Buy today. That was fast. Funny how I ordered True Swing Golf on Amazon earlier and these came first. True Swing Golf just shipped out today, so I shouldn't be waiting much longer, though.
