It's Ok, definitely a step down from part 5. It's not bad or anything, but it's not mind-blowing. I've played through it only once though, so I may not have seen everything yet.

It feels off, somehow. Maybe I just didn't get far enough. Something about most of the level structure and enemy layout just didn't seem to be anything more than bland and generic.
Gameoverdude mentioned here that the game is only worth playing on the highest difficulty, and I think I can agree with that.
If you can find it for $30 or less I think that might be an acceptable risk.

Yah, it depends upon what it is but some are stupid expensive, some can be had relatively cheap. Like games, they come and go at different prices.
