Thread: Dragon Quest + Dynasty Warriors = Dragon Quest Heroes

  1. #91

  2. Heroes sold about 31,000 copies last month (it was beaten by Chibibo by about 4,000 copies) so we can safely say that was more a "please buy Dragon Quest" that no one responded to.

I'm expecting VII and VIII to similarly bomb because everyone's all WUH I WANNA GAME WHY DON"T YOU LOCALIZE until it actually comes out.

REMEMBER LAYTON VS. WRIGHT? EVERYONE WANTED IT UNTIL IT CAME OUT AND IT WAS SO GOOD YOU"RE ALL AWFUL
    Donk

  3. Also buy DQVII and VIII 3DS or i will hate you so much
    Donk

  4. One aspect of selling games that has really made me jaded over the years is the number of games everyone ignores when they're released, only to go nuts scrounging the Earth for them later, when they're out of print and OMG HTF R@REZ. Like, I get REALLY mad when these dicks walk in and ask for the shit. ESPECIALLY when they're dicks that ignored me when they asked for a recommendation and I offered what they're looking for as one.

  5. I'm not going to buy VII or VIII. Not because they're no good--they're excellent. But because I already own them. If they release a totally offline X, I'll buy it day one. Otherwise, piss off. There are too many other games to play.

I don't blame you, especially when that just lines the pockets of scalpers and/or collectors and cuts out everyone involved in actually delivering games: developers, publishers, retailers, etc.

    Already preordered VII and VIII.

One of the first PS4 games I'll get after buying the system will be DQH. I already love musou and it looks amazing.

  8. I preordered the DQ games.

  9. Since this is the most current musou thread...

  10. It's fine, of course, if you don't like the games. Many people don't, and if I got bent out of shape every time a DW game was reviewed poorly or shit upon, I'd be dead from stress already.
    I like that Jim Sterling.

I feel like DW is more it's own thing and not really a successor to the beat 'em up, though. But, I do think Dragon Quest Heroes is a lot closer in that regard because of enemy variety/abilities beyond "normal attack with differing frequency".
