The Lions got a gift with that running into the kicker in the 1st half. The Lions went on to drive the ball in for a score. Dallas also got robbed of a 1st down, when 83 got pushed into a defender. Lucky for the Cowboys, the next play Williams took it to the house.

Because I don't think the head referee threw the flag, so I have no idea how he would have announced what he did if there wasn't really a penalty

That game was given to Dallas. The picked up flag with no explanation AFTER the call was announced may be a first. Non stop, uncalled holding on the Dallas offensive line in the second half assured their offense to get working. I'm no Detroit fan, just a fan of football. Only Dallas fans could believe that wasn't a gift from the refs/league.
