I know that offense wouldn't have won shit without the defense last year and won't at all this year. I want to see a metric for points not off turnovers. That's the only one that matters for an offense. How often can you drive the field from your own 20 or whatever?

edit: Even that wouldn't take field position into account as a result of three and outs and the like.

well that's stupid then, because Seattle has a below average D points-wise and an above-average O, despite forcing only 1 TO/game

If that's still true after adjusting for turnovers and special teams, then they sure have slid from last year on D.

edit: I'm actually surprised no one has come up with a metric that looks at a more real points number for the offense and defense. The Eagles, for example, look like a great offense if you mistakenly just look at points scored. In reality, their offense is significantly worse than it was last year.
