A lot of the fights play out in a very... pro-wrestling sort of way. On almost every single TV show besides this one as well. It's pretty goofy, but I get it. If the good guy never gets knocked down, you've got no conflict; if he uses his power all the time every time the budget takes a huge hit and you've got 20 episodes to make. It's still the best live action superhero TV thing we've had, mostly in terms of 'getting enough of the tone right and not skimping too much on the effects'.

I'm predicting Detective Stud is going to die to make room for Barry/Isis after she finds out he's the Flash and that scientist girl's boyfriend isn't really dead and comes back before the season is over.

Right on both counts, but PLOT TWIST! they kill off Ronnie after all because the actor decided to go do something else.

And the way Eddie goes out is MAGNIFICENT. He's gonna be your an hero.

I still don't understand why two normal guys with dumb guns are such a threat, either to the Flash or to police snipers.

It's the same thing in the comics though, Captain Cold is just as dumb and nonsensical there as well. He's a normal guy with a cold gun.

Why doesn't he just patent and sell his freezing technology, get equity in the purchasing firm, invest the return in a mix of mutual funds, stocks, and bonds, and retire comfortably?

I was going to say "how do you patent technology that you stole?" but then realized that that would be the most realistic thing about the show if it happened.
