That's funny, on a whim I decided to watch Saw for the first time just a few hours before this thread was posted. I really like horror movies but I also haven't seen a lot of popular movies, so this fit the bill. I had heard good things about Saw 1 and I liked it. I guess ten years and six? films later it wasn't as gruesome as I expected, and the parallel action with Danny Glover wasn't all that interesting to me, but everything in the room was great. Doesn't shoot to the top of my horror movie list or anything, but definitely worth seeing!
Saw is a great horror franchise. I give the writers a lot of respect for attempting an overall story arc that continues through all seven movies...instead of just going the one-off stand alone route. Personally, I think 1-3 are great, 4 and 5 are near unwatchable, 6 is great, and 7 is just dumb fun. I don't blame anybody for quitting on parts 4 or 5 though.
