Thread: American Sniper

  1. Masters of the Universe.

  2. Rolling Stone steamrolls it. http://www.rollingstone.com/politics...0150121?page=3

And this guy points out the factual and moral fallacies in a watered-down Team America dick, asshole, pussy metaphor http://www.vox.com/2015/1/22/7859791...an-sniper-iraq

  3. When I saw the first American Sniper promo, I thought I was getting the Clint Eastwood of Letters from Iwo Jima (also one of the greatest war movies ever made), not the Clint Eastwood yelling at an empty chair. Really disappointing.

Forrest Gump pulled in over half a billion and won Best Picture. So what exactly should we have expected from American Sniper?
    I for-real lol'd.

  5. This is a more honest movie about a sniper.

  6. Snipers are Terrorists. "His job is to strike a paralytic fear into the enemy," said Andrew Pedry, a Marine scout sniper section leader in Iraq in 2003.

As snipers we have a saying: 'Kill one, terrorize thousands,'" Meyer said.

Terrorist is just as meaningless as partisans was 70 years ago

  8. "I imagine it appears that I brutally killed both of my loved ones. I was only trying to do a quick thorough job [...] If my life insurance policy is valid please pay off my debts [...] donate the rest anonymously to a mental health foundation. Maybe research can prevent further tragedies of this type [...] Give our dog to my in-laws. Tell them Kathy loved "Schocie" very much [...] If you can find in yourselves to grant my last wish, cremate me after the autopsy." -Charles Whitman, the Texas Tower Sniper

I never read about this guy before. He never was a sniper in war, but was Marine trained and his psychosis was never identified prior to the massacre.

Gunnery Sergeant Hartman is fucking bummed that you didn't already know that Charles Whitman killed twelve people from a twenty-eight story observation tower at the University of Texas from distances up to four hundred yards.

  10. Yeah, Suzie.
