It really was fine, it just could have been better. I'm sick of hearing it's as good as Empire, it's not even close. I think given time most people will agree it's at about the same level or maybe slightly better than Force Awakens.
This movie was fine. Tarkin and Leia looked like shit but the rest was fun.

If they were somehow able to take the best parts of TFA (characterization) and the best parts of RO (combat that matters-people can actually get hurt and die!, new elements and characters that aren't just skin swaps for established archetypes), then Episode 8 could be all kinds of awesome.
I mean in general. The number of people currently still ranting about how it is as great or better than Empire is just stupid at the moment.

I don't know why people are comparing this to mainline Star Wars movies in the first place.
It's a spin-off like the Ewoks movies, and from what I've read, it's a big improvement over those.

I like TFA more.
Never understood 'i fell asleep at the movie' as a legitimate criticism. Your body just needed sleep, the movie isn't there to keep your ass awake despite yourself.
This would have made a fine Mass Effect movie if it weren't Star Wars btw.

Is this the best Star Wars movie ever, no. I think it's probably the best one since Return of the Jedi, and honestly I think it's better than that one.
Return of the Jedi had the most cool shit per minute in it. It's my favorite.
